Free real estate meeting in Kalaheo
Tim Mira and Drew Vento will be holding a free real estate seminar tomorrow at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center. The meeting will deal with issues of home affordability and real estate market timing. The informational meeting will start at 6 p.m. with an introduction and a “walk through” the buying process and conclude with a question and answer session. They will start with this first meeting in Kalaheo and hope to have other meetings on Kaua‘i based on requests. The informal seminar is designed to help residents position themselves for a home purchase and guide sellers to effectively sell their property.
Kaua‘i North Shore Business Council promotes shopping locally
The first week of December is National Shop Local Week. When board members for the Kaua‘i North Shore Business Council (KNSBC) learned about this initiative they agreed it was worthwhile to promote the concept on Kaua‘i. “Given the challenging times we’re facing, what could be more important than finding ways to encourage consumers to shop locally and help the island’s businesses compete more effectively,” explained membership chair Ginger Kenny. Kenny suggested, since most of the Council’s membership consists of locally owned and operated businesses, that something be done to assist them this holiday season. With that in mind, KNSBC’s Board of Directors agreed to run an advertising campaign at no cost to its members. Beginning Nov. 20 through Dec. 11, six advertisements will run in The Garden Island to promote shopping locally. For more information, visit www.knsbc.org or contact membership chair Ginger Kenny at (808) 826-4464.
