Congratulations to Avery Kano and his ‘ohana on the opening of Pua Lei, a flower shop in Kapa‘a located behind Kaua‘i Pasta. Avery will be on hand today as a safety judge when the KIF hosts its annual cheerleading competition at Kaua‘i High School.
Mike and Dimples Kano were proud parents and Avery went to pick up the food personally from Pono Market. Of course, the ‘ohana was on hand, including floral designer David Alayvilla who said he supports his nephew 150 percent.
And if David is there, brother Domi was definitely in the house.
December is shaping up to be real busy … Wayne Miyata said his ceramics class will be having a “Chip and Dip” event early in the month, and that should be something to check out.
But if you need lunch on Wednesday, check out John Constantino and Nelson Batalion who are putting together that fashion show at the KCC cafeteria. Should be interesting. Unfortunately, Sheane Talbo-Mandrigues will miss out since she’ll be on vacation, but Jolynne Uyesono will be there.
Hats off to Donovan Travaso and his crew at the Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery for doing a great job with the facility for the Veterans Day services. Gladys Fujiuchi of the Lihu‘e Hongwanji said the women from the Kaua‘i United Buddhist Women’s Association came through with its Lonesome Grave program and had flowers for all the graves.
OK, so what to do today? Gotta check out Jane Garma at the KIF cheerleading competition … it’s at Kaua‘i High School starting at noon.
