And you never know who you’re going to run into at lunch at the Bar-B-Que Inn (Rachel Gehrin was nowhere to be found so next time, girl). Sharlene Mata just needs to walk across the street, and Melissa McFerrin and Laurie Ho are gearing up for the next big event. The big question is who was the birthday girl?
Melissa and Laurie were pretty busy since they were at the Arbor Day free plant giveaway (kudos to Jackie Kozak and all those involved in that event). Jackie said there were people in the parking lot when she checked in with security and by 8:30 a.m., there was a line.
Catherine Paleka did a great job with the Kapa‘a homecoming halftime show, and if that wasn’t enough, she even had the Warrior band and flag girls at the Veterans Day parade.
But so was Col. Jerald Knudsen and Sgt. Major Bill Barchers of the Kapa‘a High School Jr. ROTC. They had the color guard and saber unit at the homecoming and still managed to get up early for the parade.
