In observance of Veterans Day, certain government offices will be closed tomorrow.
Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge will also be closed tomorrow. It will offer free admission Wednesday. The administrative fee waiver of entrance and standard amenity fees applies annually on Veterans Day at public recreation lands managed by Interior’s National Park Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation and Agricultures’ U.S. Forest Service.
“This is a great way to demonstrate our appreciation for the brave men and women who have made incredible sacrifices to serve our country,” said Fish and Wildlife Service Director H. Dale Hall, an Air Force veteran.
All public libraries will be closed tomorrow, reopening Wednesday.
Kaua‘i County offices will be closed tomorrow, along with all refuse transfer stations, the Kekaha Landfill and Kaua‘i Resource Center.
All HI-5 redemption centers normally open on Tuesdays as well as Puhi Metals Recycling Center will remain open on Veterans Day. Residential refuse pick-up will also continue as scheduled.
The Kaua‘i Bus will be operating on a modified schedule on Veterans Day as well as on all other county holidays, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Normal business hours for county offices and services will resume Wednesday.
