Paustino Nuivo died Oct. 30, 2008, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 78.
Born in Hanama‘ulu on April 18, 1930, he was a retired welder.
He is survived by wife Clara Rapozo Nuivo; children Pamela (Anthony) Pantil, Dawn Amorin, Rose (Bruce) Horka, William (April) Nuivo, Kerry (Ora) Nuivo; brother Tony (Terry) Nuivo; sisters Naty (Nicholas) Arato, Soledad (Kelly) Cui; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit from 8:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church where Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m.

Carmelo Dumayag Hernandez died Oct. 24, 2008, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 72. Born in the Phillipines on April 24, 1936, he was a retired field irrigator.
He is survived by wife Nerie Coloma Hernandez; son Eddie (Genta) Hernandez, daughters Marilyn (William) Carbonel, Cathy (Noel) Palacio, Noreen (Jacob) Gandeza, Carol (David) Ching; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sisters Victoria Ildefonso, Florentina (Rosenda) Ventura and Irene Malabed.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, November 7 at Borthwick Memorial Chapel in Koloa and again from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday November 8 at Immaculate Conception Church where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Bill. Burial to follow at Lihu‘e Cemetary.

Natasha Furtado
Natasha N. Furtado died on Oct. 30, 2008, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 18. Born in Lihu‘e on Dec. 1, 1989, she was a cashier for Whalers General Store in Anahola.
She is survived by parents Francis Furtado Jr. and Momi Furtado; sisters Shylynn Furtado, Shayna Sa; brother Jusin Furtado; grandparents Helen Sa, Marlene Furtado; numerous Aunties, Uncles and cousins.
Family and friends may visit with family from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Kapa‘a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Nov. 14. Services will be held at 11 a.m. with burial to follow.

Beatrice Chieko Nakae died on Oct. 28, 2008, at home at the age of 79. Born in Kealia, Kaua‘i on Dec. 31, 1928. Preceded in death by husband Satoru Nakae. Survived by son Harlan (Bernie) Nakae of Kapa‘a, daughters Charlene (Stanton) Koizumi of Kapa‘a, Lynne (Roy) Taogoshi of Kapa‘a and Lorene Inoshita of Princeville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers Sakae Michioka of Kapa‘a and Allen (Hilda) Michioka of Lihu‘e; two sisters, Peggy Carvalho of Kapa‘a and Marjorie Zaima of Lihu‘e; three-step grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 3 p.m. on Nov. 9 at Kapaa Hongwanji Mission; service at 4 p.m.

Larry Saito died on Oct. 21, 2008, in Las Vegas at the age of 57. Born in Kealia, on Dec. 31, 1928. Survived by wife Phyllis Saito; daughter Desaray (Robert) Brown; grandsons, Keanu Saito, Ali‘i Brown; aunts, Alice, Jean; uncles Thomas, Robert and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation and celebration of his life will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Nov. 8 at Kaua‘i Veteran’s Center; service to follow.
Tsuye “Elaine” Yoshimitsu
Tsuye “Elaine” Yoshimitsu died in Ele‘ele on Oct. 31, 2008, at the age of 80. Born in Ele‘ele on Feb. 17, 1928, and was a dedicated homemaker. Survived by daughter Coleen Katsura of Lihu‘e; son Aaron (Debbie) Yoshimitsu of Hanapepe; brothers Yuzuru Katsura and Mamoru of O‘ahu; sister Lillian Katsura of Ele‘ele; grandson Bryson Yoshimitsu of Hanapepe; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing and celebration of her life will be held from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Nov. 8 at Kauai Veterans Cemetary; sevices from 10 a.m. with burial to follow.

Rogelio Cesario Jr.
Rogelio Cesario Jr. died on Oct. 29, 2008, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 23.
Born on Nov. 27, 1984, in the Philipines, he was a stock person.
Survived by wife Karina Valdez Cesario; daughter Alexandra Nicole Cesario; parents Rogelio (Lilia) Cesario Sr., brothers and sisters Celia (Recarte) Pagaduan, Edna (Romulo) Constantion, Thelma (Arthur) Pascual, Zeny (Beyflor) Cadiz, Jay (Criselda) Cesario, Josue (Joan) Cesario, Rocelia Cesario, Bryan Cesario; and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dolly Takenouchi
Dolly Takenouchi died on Nov 2, 2008, at The Queen of the Valley
in Napa, Calif. at the age of 87. Born on Jan. 16, 1921, in Lihu‘e.
She is preceded in death by husband Clarence Takenouchi, daughter Shirley and son Clayton.
She is survived by daughters Kahala, Linda and Mae Ellen, nine grandchildren and twelve great- grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 8 at Claffey & Rota Funeral Home in Napa, Calif.
