Mahalo to Dr. Becky Rhoades, the Save Our Shearwaters team and all involved for the hospitality at the blessing of the Shearwaters earlier this week. The students who came with Sabra Kauka were in for a real treat as the mobile radar used to track birds were on hand as well.
So far, it’s been a Koloa week. More Island School students visited Diann Hartman and her crew at the Grand Hyatt Regency Kaua‘i Resort and Spa where she said they are getting ready for the Hawaiian festival that runs through today.
Sara Sloan (goalkeeper Emma Sloan of Kalaheo did a great job with saves) was one the guides for the students, but worried about getting to the playoff games in Hanapepe.
Diann had to figure out how to talk to third graders about photovoltaic, and Sherry Horita of the Laundry Department and Chef Lawrence Eells (ask him about the white hats next time you see him) were excellent presenters.
Hats off to Shannon Ladd of the Sheraton Kaua‘i (her son was part of the Island School visitors at the Hyatt) on the Sheraton health fair for associates.
Valerie Saiki of Kaua‘i/REAL is gearing up for the Great American Smokeout celebration at the Lihu‘e Bowling Center, and Mary Williamson was able to do the health fair as well as take in the conference.
Mahalo to Gene Padilla for connecting with Toni Keahiolalo (she has a great job — Director of Fun).
Craft fairs are everywere today. Take your pick.
