Colleen McCracken can’t figure out where Janice Bond gets all her energy from.
Janice was out with her “Obamamobile” as John Sydney Yamane (he had an Obama sign in one hand and a Lani Kawahara sign in the other) calls it, but was only part of the campaigning going on in Kapa‘a outside the football game.
Cristobel Kealoha got her Kauahi ‘ohana together and had a real ol’ style chalang-alang bash going at the corner. That got Bill Georgi excited enough to come down the road on his Segway X-1 (he said that’s the off-road model) with the “chariot” sign promoting his wife, JoAnne.
Tim Bynum got a long-distance view of all that excitement from across the road, and Rhoda Libre was taking up a spot on the other side of the busy intersection. And the common thread was all those Bernard Carvalho supporters who were everywhere!
John Uyeno (he and the East Kaua‘i Lions were helping at the flu shot clinic at Kukui Grove) said he had a long distance endorsement when he attended his class reunion in Las Vegas, recently. One of John’s classmates said he has to vote for the niece on Kaua‘i who is running for council.
Bob and Lenore Klass have been absent (or, is it the Happy Camper has been absent) from the brunch crowd at Kukui Grove, but they were back yesterday.
With school on inter-session, it’s amazing how many school students take the time to visit Kaua‘i Bakery … check out the new Li Hing Mui cookies which are Steve Nakayama’s latest creation.
