KEALIA — The KBA Surf Meet No. 4 which was scheduled for last Saturday has been put on hold due to small surf.
Lifeguards at the Kealia Beach Park where the meet was scheduled, said organizers called to reschedule the meet due to the small surf.
“KBA postponed the event due to very little wave activity,” said Debra, the KBA event coordinator in an e-mail notification about the postponement.
“The consensus with the group is to be able to get their bang for their buck and so the event is on standby for Saturday, or the following Saturday and so on until decent waves are evident,” she said.
According to the National Weather Service surf forecast East-facing shores experiencing 1- to 3-foot surf with no significant swell activity are expected through Monday.
However, the NWS has forecast a small North swell for Thursday followed by a small South swell for South-facing shores on Saturday.
