Pedro Corpuz
Pedro Ancheta Corpuz died Sept. 3, 2008, at Garden Isle Health Care Center at the age of 74. Born March 25, 1934, in the Philippines, he was a retired janitor for Lihu‘e Airport.
He was preceded in death by wife Carmen Corpuz.
He is survived by wife Glenda Corpuz; children Robert (Erlinda) Corpuz, Amando (Remedios) Corpuz, Teresita (Manalo) Piza, Edgar (Rowena) Corpuz, Flordeliza (Ronald) Tarriga, Aladin (Edna) Corpuz; stepson Angelo Ramento; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary; service begins at 7 p.m. Another service is planned from 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo; Mass begins at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihue Cemetery.

William Silva
William G. Silva died Sept. 22, 2008, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 77. Born May 24, 1931, in Kalaheo, he was a heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by children William Silva of Puhi, Gerald Silva of Wailua, Darold Silva of O‘ahu, John Silva of Lawa‘i, Glen Silva of Hanalei, Greg Silva of Hanalei, Jennifer DeCosta of O‘ahu, Gail Bukoski of Hilo; brothers Gabriel Silva and James Silva, both of Lawa‘i; sister Elgar Perreira of Hilo; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, at St. Raphael; Mass begins at 10 a.m.

Frances Sasan
Frances Heneralau Sasan of Lihu‘e died Sept. 20, 2008, at the age of 96. Born Sept. 12, 1912, in San Fernando, Cebu Philippines, she retired from the Lihue Plantation sugar company as a general maintenance worker.
She was preceded in death by husband Timoteo and daughter Lily.
She is survived by sons Jay (Diana), Fred (Camela), Richard (Liane) and William (Maria); daughters Josephine (Victor) Bigno and Lucille (Tony) Bargayo; 16 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. followed by memorial service on Monday, Sept. 29, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia. Casual attire is suggested. Condolence letters may be mailed to P.O. Box 77, Hilo, HI 96721

Martin Purdy
Martin I. Purdy Sr. of Waimea, Hawai‘i, died Sept. 17, 2008, at his residence at the age of 90. Born April 25, 1918, in Hanalei, he was a paniolo formerly employed with Parker Ranch and Ulupakua Ranch on Maui.
He is survived by wife Doris Johnson Purdy of Waimea, Hawai‘i; sister Cecelia Kalili Hapakukua; daughters Kulia (Earl) Griffith of Virginia, Eleanor Kalama of Waimea, Hawai‘i; sons Martin (Terri) Purdy Jr. of Hilo, Leslie (Tamara) Purdy of Waimea, Hawai‘i; stepdaughter Kathy Smith of California; stepsons Frank (Bobetta) Johnson of California, Mike (Heather) Johnson of Illinois; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 22 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Kalama residence, 64-1057 Kamanawa St., Kuhio Village in Waimea, Hawai‘i. Catholic service begins at 11 a.m. Private scattering of ashes to follow.

George Toyofuku
George H. Toyofuku of Lihu‘e died Sept. 20, 2008, at home at the age of 78. Born May 29, 1930, in Hanapepe, he was a retired owner/manager with Mokihana Insurance Agency.
He is survived by wife Elsie; sons Guy (Lori) Toyofuku and Dean (Geri) Toyofuku, both of Lihu‘e; daughters Amy of Hilo and Lisa (Lance) Taketa of Hilo; eight grandchildren; brothers Thomas (Grace) Toyofuku and Charles (Carol) Toyofuku, both of Honolulu; sister Naoe (Kenneth) Fukuda of Honolulu.
Friends may visit with the family at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28, at the Lihue Hongwanji Mission; service officiated by Bishop Thomas Okano will begin at 3 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and the family requests that flowers be omitted.

Wesley Moribe
Wesley Hiroshi Moribe of Kapa‘a died Sept. 17, 2008, at home at the age 50. Born July 26, 1958, in Waimea, he was a maintenance man with Kauai Hilton, also a fisherman and farmer.
He is survived by wife Rita Ann Moribe; sons Wesley Shane Moribe, Rex Ethan Moribe and Ryan Mitsuo Moribe, all of Kapa‘a; brothers Stanley (Maxine) Moribe of California, George (Merl) Moribe of Pearl City, O‘ahu, and Dennis Moribe of San Diego, Calif.; sister Janie (Collin) Kunimura of San Francisco, Calif.; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
