Kashiko Kuboyama died on Sept. 7, 2008, at his home in Kapa‘a. Born in Hule‘ia, Lihu‘e on Nov. 22, 1911, he was the proprietor of Kapa‘a Appliances and Liquor Store.
He is survived by his wife Yukiko Kuboyama of Kapa‘a; three sons, Stanley (Sharon) Kuboyama of O‘ahu, Haven Kuboyama of Kapa‘a, Lyle Kuboyama of Kapa‘a; one daughter, Faith (Milton) Okuhara of O‘ahu; one sister, Chiyome Merugami of Lihu‘e; three grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held.
No koden. Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary is handling the arrangements for the family.
Herculano Emnase Sr.
Herculano Emnase Sr., 79, died on Aug. 2, 2008, at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born on Nov. 23, 1928, on Kaua‘i. He worked with Lawn Care for the ARC of Hilo. Memorial Service will be on Saturday, Sept. 13, noon at the Hanama’ulu Beach Park. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loretto and Colomba Ibanez. He is survived by his son Herculano Emnase, Jr., of Arizona; his daughter Caridad “Wendy” (James) Grimes, Mt. View; his three brothers, Loretto (LouAnn) Ibanez, William (Gloria) Sasil, both of Lihu‘e, Jose Baylon, Ewa Beach; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Dirk Togashi
Dirk Norio Togashi, 43, of Hilo, Big Island, and formerly of Lahaina, Maui, died on Sept. 7, 2008, at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born on March 18, 1965, in Hilo, and was a computer technician at Kalaniana‘ole Elementary and Intermediate School. He was also a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and a former chairman of its Board of Spiritual Affairs.
Friends may call at the Honpa Hongwanji Betsuin on Sept. 16, 2008, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., where a memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. The family requests casual attire and that flowers be omitted.
He is survived by his wife Iris Tsuchiyama Togashi of Hilo; father Ronald (Eileen Exton) Togashi of Lahaina; mother-in-law Violet Tsuchiyama of Lihu‘e; brother Kirk (Joni) Togashi of Lahaina; and sister Ronda (Stan) Miller of Kunia, O‘ahu.
He is also survived by one niece, two nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
