Gary Craft was attempting to make a left turn while riding a moped from Ulu Maika Road onto Nuhou Road in Lihu‘e at around 8:20 a.m. Saturday.
He lost control of the moped and struck a concrete wall on the south side of Nuhou Road, a county news release states.
Craft was taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital in an ambulance and then airlifted to The Queen’s Medical Center for treatment.
He remained in critical condition yesterday afternoon, a hospital spokesperson said.
