The Mililani All-Stars team was eliminated from PONY baseball’s West Zone tournament after suffering its second loss, 7-1, against Victoria of Southern California, late Tuesday.
Victoria pitcher John Davis whacked into a three-run homer with two outs in the top of the fourth to set the stage for Victoria’s win. The team followed that frame with four more runs in the fifth frame to cap the victory.
Mililani could not get on the board until the bottom of the sixth inning when it marked its only run in the game that came on four hits.
Davis struck out nine Mililani batters while giving up just four hits.
Hanapepe’s Dallas Correa finished the outing 0-1 with two walks, and as a catcher, threw out two attempted steals.
Other Mililani hitters included Tyler Tokunaga going 2-4 and Jake Baptisa 1-4.
The second loss to Victoria eliminated the Mililani All-Stars from the tournament.
In the three times the two teams met, Mililani won the first match 8-3 before dropping two, 6-1 Monday, and 7-1 Tuesday.
