Two cars were towed after a traffic accident in Wailua yesterday afternoon, according to Kaua‘i Police Department Sgt. Kekoa Ledesma.
A silver Mazda pickup truck was reportedly traveling west on Kuamo‘o Road when a red Chevrolet SUV pulled out of a driveway in front of the pickup.
The pickup tried to avoid the SUV, but rear-ended it, the officer said. A witness said that the pickup skidded across the road into a hedge near the corner of Kamalu Road.
After the impact, the SUV spun around and came to a rest in the middle of Kamalu Road, according to the witness.
Ledesma said that fire, paramedics and police were dispatched to the scene, but both drivers refused medical attention. There were no passengers.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
