Three new bus routes have been created on the North Shore.
A 7:20 a.m. route leaving Hanalei has been added between the 6:20 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. existing routes.
In addition to the 2:21 p.m. and 4:21 p.m. Route 500 buses that leave Kaua‘i Community College bound for Hanalei, the 3:21 p.m. Route 500 bus, which originated at KCC and terminated in Kapa‘a, will now continue to Hanalei.
For those wanting to catch The Kaua‘i Bus from Hanalei to Lihu’e in the late afternoon, a 5:20 p.m. Route 500 bus has been added.
For the mainline routes, individual fares are $1.50 for adults, while seniors and children ages 7 to 18, pay 75 cents for one-way travel. Children 6 and under ride free when accompanied by an adult.
Fares for the shuttle routes are less — 50 cents for adults and 25 cents for seniors and youths ages seven to 18.
The Kaua‘i Bus operates Monday through Friday from 5:15 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. On Saturdays and most holidays, it runs on a reduced schedule.
No bus service is offered on Sundays and major holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Brochures listing bus routes are available on all county buses and at a number of businesses around the island including Big Save, Kukui Grove Center and Safeway.
