KOLOA n A 40-year-old Puhi woman was taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital yesterday morning following a four-car, rush hour crash on Kaumuali‘i Highway near Knudsen Gap.
At press time, the victim, Maryann Bisarra, was in fair condition. No other drivers or passengers were injured in the accident.
Police said around 6:15 a.m., a driver of a pickup truck towing a 14-foot boat on a trailer rear ended the car in front of him, which in turn rear ended the next vehicle.
The brakes of the pickup, which police said had locked up, also caused it to skid across the highway and crash head-on into Bisarra’s westbound vehicle.
Kaumuali‘i Highway was closed for approximately an hour and a half as a result of the accident.
