Clyde Kodani just didn’t have enough time. He was on a flight home and thought he would have time to get shoes on before picking up Sen. Daniel Akaka, but you know how flights are. Result? Clyde came to the blessing in his trademark footwear.
Paul Curtis was doing the honors for U.S. Representative Mazie Hirono, and Ron Sakoda was at the Kikiaola Small Boat Harbor blessing along with Sen. Daniel Inouye.
Representative Neil Ambercrombie demonstrated his passion for his job in the remarks he presented to the crowd, and at the KEDB Aloha Ike dinner where all four Congressional delegates attended, Neil was trying to butter up emcee David Ochoco who was going to emcee the event.
Hats off to Mattie Yoshioka and her KEDB staff for being able to coordinate the cross-island movement of the dignitaries, and Mark Kennett (if you want to see a collection of good coaches, visit the Gay & Robinson offices) made it down to the Kaua‘i Marriott along with Linda Collins and Ori Skomoroch.
And kudos to Jean Souza for putting together another successful Science at the Beach project for the Girl Scouts and Waimea High School students.
