A 64-year-old hiker from Nevada was aided by Kaua‘i police officers Sunday night on the Nonou Mountain Trail after falling and sustaining minor injuries. William Anderson, a former Kaua‘i resident, began yelling for help at around 8 p.m. A resident in the area called police dispatch and informed them of the call for help.
Officers Danny Creamer and Christian Jenkins responded to the call. Upon their arrival, they heard Anderson shouting and hiked to his location.
After a 10 n 15 – minute hike, the officers located Anderson. He told the officers that although he sustained minor injuries he could walk down the trail unassisted. The officers escorted him down to the bottom of the trail, where he was examined by medics.
Anderson declined further medical aid.
The officers followed Anderson in his rental car back to his hotel.
