A 36-year-old Kapa‘a man allegedly threatened two crew members of the “Pride of Aloha” cruise ship outside Nawiliwili Tavern early yesterday morning.
Uasi Musika was arrested and charged with two counts of first degree terroristic threatening, states a county press release.
According to the release, one of the victims left the scene and was walking back to the ship when he saw police officers in the area and reported what happened.
The officers went to the scene and located Musika at the entrance of the tavern and he fit the description provided.
While police questioned the suspect, according to the release, Musika attempted to flee and a struggle ensued. Officers were able to subdue Musika and place him under arrest.
A shoulder harness and a holster, along with a loaded handgun were recovered from the suspect, according to the release.
Musika is facing charges of first degree assault against a police officer, firearm possession and resisting arrest.
Bail for Musika is set at $25,100.
