Congresswoman Mazie Hirono nominated eight Kaua‘i high school students to service academies, among others across the state from the 2nd Congressional District.
“These students have demonstrated impressive academic accomplishment, great leadership potential and an interest in serving the country,” Hirono said.
The five service academies are the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.; the U.S. Military Academy (Army) in West Point, N.Y.; the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.; the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn.; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y.
