The Kauai Composite Squadron members of the Civil Air Patrol and visiting dignitaries gathered in Nawiliwili for the Squadron’s annual CAP Flight Safety meeting recently.
CAP’s national commander from Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama, Brigadier General Amy Courter, presented James “JJ” Jasper with the Meritorious Service Award for the significant lasting contributions that he has made to the Civil Air Patrol during the last 20 years. Assisting with the presentation was Pacific Region Commander, Col. Ernest Pearson.
“JJ” Jasper is a Lt.Colonel in CAP and a long time air search and rescue pilot. Lt.Colonel Ronald Victorino is the commander of the Kaua‘i Composite Squadron based at Lihu‘e Airport with 60 members and two Cessna aircraft.
Civil Air Patrol is the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary.
