Kevin Matsunaga and the video students from Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School are having a blast in California.
Kevin said they hooked up with Lauren Michioka, sister of Cheryl Michioka of Mokihana Travel, who works for Universal. Lauren set up a tour for the CKMS students so they could see where they edit films for TV and even into the sound department.
Back on Kaua‘i, JK was checking out the action at KIF basketball…Ms. Joyce Evens opted to do basketball over soccer for this week, and Jaezelle Balilea did both.
Mahalo to Bill Lemke for getting us the final scores … that’s the only way you can juggle two KIF games on opposite ends of the island.
Bill was thankful that Robert Clancy (he can run fast!) was on Kaua‘i to help officiate the games in Hanapepe.
Meanwhile, the Shimabukuro brothers had to split up since Scott had to check out Skye at Hanapepe and Trent had to watch Trey in action at the Raiderdome.
Rea Plotado (mahalo coach Bobby Kamakele, for the Kaulupono 13U roster) said her No. 15 jersey is because it’s the same number as Colt Brennan. Rea and Cheyenne Duarte and all the Kaulupono girls were doing food booth duty at the soccer game, and Amber Fujimoto (she’s a soccer girl) found it was a good time to visit. The big question is, who’s already got their season tickets for 2008?
OK, it’s time to do another full-island hop … soccer, swimming, paddling in Kapa‘a, and basketball in Waimea.
And, if you’re looking for stuff to do, check out Tom Edlefsen and the tennis doubles at Kiahuna.
