Millie Wellington was disappointed that the Lights on Rice parade was weathered out. She was helping at the Wilcox Hospital gift shop (you gotta check out all the fancy stuff they have), and said people were coming in all day to get ready … until the rain and weather put a damper on the whole thing.
Congratulations to Chris Faye, who started as the curator at the Kaua‘i Museum. She was helping Linda Shimoda during the recent Family Day event, and the museum staff are already looking ahead to the Chinese New Year event.
Joyce Evens had the right theory about KIF. You do basketball on Tuesday, soccer on Wednesday, and I guess nothing is on tap until next week since Waimea has the bye.
Jon Kobayashi was helping at the gate Wednesday night, and it’s good the high schools now have food at the basketball games since soccer and basketball are back-to-back.
Michelle Lemy and Lisa Iida (she’s already earned her stripes) don’t get a break, though. They go from KIF basketball to the county’s community program. Jeff Venzon was curious how come the Camper missed Monday’s game, but where was the schedule?
He and Peter Rayno (he was interviewed on the radio while in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl) must be coaching one of the teams.
OK, time to run … it’s soccer and basketball, to the max.
