Lejardine, Lanakila and Waialua high school basketball teams will be on Kaua‘i when the Kapa‘a High School doors open to its pre-season basketball tournament Thursday.
According to a schedule submitted by Phil Baclayon, head basketball coach for Kapa‘a, the tournament will run Thursday through Saturday at the Bernice Hundley Gym.
On Thursday and Friday, the Kapa‘a JV team will be taking on Island School and Waimea High School, respectively, starting at 4:30 p.m.
The JV Warriors will wrap up its tournament run against the Kaua‘i JV starting at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The varsity squads from Lejardine, Lanakila, Waialua and Kapa‘a high schools will be on the court following the JV contest each day.
Kapa‘a will host Lejardine, Thursday starting at 6 p.m. followed by Lanakila going up against Waialua starting at 7:30 p.m.
On Friday, Lejardine and Lanakila matchup in the
6 p.m. contest while Kapa‘a hosts Waialua starting at 7:30 p.m.
Waialua takes on Lejardine on Saturday starting at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Warriors closing out the tournament against Lanakila starting at noon.
The Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation basketball season starts on Jan. 2 when the Kapa‘a boys travel to the Raiderdome to take on Kaua‘i.
The JV contest tips off at 5:30 p.m. followed by the varsity contest.
