Applications for the Waimea Lighted Christmas Parade are due by Dec. 15 and are available at wkbpa.org.
This year, those who do not have an approved application will not be allowed to participate and will be turned away, Robert Westerman, chair of the Lighted Christmas Parade, states in a press release.
“We are forced to limit the parade due to time constraints of our highway use permit. We will limit the entries, sizes and types to ensure everyone gets a fair chase to participate,” he said. Starting next week, participants whose applications were received and approved will be called. Roads close at 6 p.m. but they usually back up to Pakala’s and Kekaha by 4 p.m.
All parade participants need to be inline at the Waimea Canyon School by 4:30 p.m. Come early and enjoy what Waimea town has to offer before the parade starts, visit our businesses, eat lunch and or dinner, purchase last minute gifts.
