Garcia gets top ‘C’ honors
Bart Garcia worked for his top slot in the 4wd nitro sedan C class at the latest Garden Isle R/C race, Sunday.
Trading leads with Dimi Rivera, Garcia was able to fend off his challenger in the end to cop top honors, relegating Rivera to the runner-up slot. Bongie Gorospe filled in the No. 3 berth in that class.
Dennis Givez finished the day with Top Qualifier honors as well as taking the top slot in the 4wd nitro sedan A division. Reggie Aribon, Wendell Esposo and Seth Morales filled in the remaining berths, respectively.
Arnold Morales earned top honors in the 4wd nitro sedan B class over the efforts of Gorospe and Noel Udaondo.
The Garden Isle R/C Racers will host its next race on Nov. 25 at the Wailua off-road track.
Admission is free to the event that has the first races starting at 10 a.m., weather permitting.

KIF boys soccer schedule confirmed
The Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation announced its pre-season boys soccer series for this weekend.
The Mililani High School Trojans will open the series Friday night against Kapa‘a High School starting at 6:30 p.m. at the New Kapa‘a Town Park facility.
Following that contest, the Trojans go up against the Menehune boys Saturday starting at 9 a.m. at the Island School soccer complex.
The second Saturday game will follow against Kaua‘i High School starting at 10:30 a.m., also at the Island School complex.
Hanapepe baseball signups next week
Registration for the Hanapepe Youth Baseball Association will take place Nov. 19 and 20 at the Hanapepe Neighborhood Center patio from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
This registration will be for all divisions including Shetland, Pinto, Mustang, Bronco and Pony. Age groups of players are from 5 to 14 years old.
Parents are asked to bring a copy of their child’s birth certificate and medical card.
