No, Annette Hashimoto does not have “all-da-timaz,” she just wasn’t at the last Kapa‘a volleyball match. But she was on hand for Friday’s homecoming game, manning the booth with all the goodies.
Congratulations to the Amanda Higa ‘ohana on her being selected as the homecoming queen for Kapa‘a, and congratulations to Mark Baltazar for being the homecoming king. The shoes got a workout, chasing all that royalty all over the place (and the paperwork that goes with it as well).
Cody Bonilla had the duty for American Medical Response, and totally enjoyed the outing (no, it didn’t rain).
Gregg Gonsalves and his crew did a great job with the stadium, and Catherine Paleka had her music students go all-out for homecoming … if you missed them, they’ll be in the Veterans Day parade Saturday in Kapa‘a.
Jerald Knudsen (he won two of the Football Frenzy thingies, already) had his Junior ROTC crew out for the festivities, and hopefully, they’ll be at the parade, too.
As far as the game, well, Dickie Chang was the only Football Frenzy panelist to get it correct, or should I say, if we were dealing with the JV game, he would be the only one that didn’t get it correct. Hats off to coach Steve Kaui and his hard-working crew.
Out on the Westside, was nice to run into Dave Walker who was lining the Hilo/Waimea game (don’t let anyone tell you it doesn’t rain in Waimea!) Saturday. The pavilion was a great spot to watch the game, safe from the rain, and Glenn Kagawa got to shag balls (on the pavilion side).
