Governor Linda Lingle released $777,000 last week for improvements at Waimea High School on the Westside to meet accessibility guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Corrective measures will include adding walkways, ramps, parking stalls, elevators and other modifications to building interiors and exteriors.
“This project will ensure that Waimea High School is fully accessible to all students and staff, as well as parents and community members who visit the campus,” Lingle said, according to a press release.
Design is scheduled to begin in February. Construction is expected to be completed by December 2009.
