In anticipation of its upcoming 50th birthday, the Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital will be celebrating a lu‘au Saturday amidst palms and tropical flowers at the Waimea Plantation Cottages.
The Westside hospital opened in February 1957, named to honor of the War Veterans of the Korean War.
The celebration luau will be Saturday, amidst palms and tropical flowers on the beautiful grounds of the Waimea Plantation Cottages. Preceding the luau will be a Craft and Plant Fair at 4 p.m., featuring locally-made products and the sale of the KVMH Auxiliary’s new cookbook of treasured recipes.
A luau and entertainment provided by Les Ceballos, a born-and-raised Westside musician.
Under his direction will be performances by the Kamehameha Schools Concert Glee Club and its dancers.
Those who are willing to share and document memoirs are encouraged to stop at the videotaping site conducted.
Raffle announcements will be made throughout the evening.
