Spend the morning on the Eastside of Kaua‘i communing with other caring folks doing good deeds for a small park. Kamalani Park National Make A Difference Day is Oct. 27. A few hours of time is all it takes. Show keiki what it means to care for the ‘aina.
The Friends of Kamalani and Lydgate Park, invite all to the park this National Make A Difference Day from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
All ages and skill levels welcome. Bring the whole family and share the aloha by helping make a difference at Lydgate Park.
Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer team leader can contact Valerie Woods at 822-2420 or hph@aloha.net. Some projects will include: assembling new ADA compliant picnic tables; repairing broken playground equipment; cleaning and grooming the beach, park and pond; and repainting existing picnic tables.
Volunteer registration will be at the Kamalani Playground starting at 7:30 a.m. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Volunteers should bring their own drinking container, gloves, shoes, hats and sunscreen. For more information, call YWCA at 245-5959 or visit Kamalani.org.
