Arnold Morales worked hard to earn his Top Qualifier honors at Sunday’s edition of the Garden Island R/C off-road race held at the Wailua track.
Morales, the coordinator for the monthly event, finished at the top of the pack for the 1/8 4wd Nitro Buggy Class over the efforts of Dennis Ginez, Dimi Rivera and Earl Balai.
Ginez was placated, though, earning TQ honors in the 1/8 4wd Nitro Truggy A division over Aaron Arizo and Seth Morales.
Balai, rounding out the buggy class leaders, earned top honors in the 1/8 4wd Nitro Truggy B class over Bongie Gorospe and Don Almadova.
Paul Vidinha topped the 1/8 4wd Nitro Monster Truck division, but John Vidinha walked off with the TQ honors. Gorospie, Almadova, Rivera and Kaimana Gandeza rounded out that division race.
The next race for the radio controlled vehicles is scheduled for Sept. 9 at the back parking lot of the Big Kmart store.
There is no admission to view the competition.
