PO‘IPU — Reuben Balmores won two divisions over the weekend at the 9th Annual Ho‘onua o ke Kai Ocean Fest. Balmores took top honors in the Open Men and 40-49 Masters divisions.
Aaron Hacker also won two divisions: 17 & Under and the 15-18 Junior Surfing.
Others winners included Kainehe Hunt, Sammy Mortino, Alex Brown, Travis Miyazaki, Kaoli Kahokuloa, Savanna Sussman, Leleo Tinimaka, Becky Benson-Jay, Malia Rimaricus, Keath Hacker and Garrett Lopez.
The event was presented by the Kaua‘i Surfing Association which was formed in 1998 to preserve the lifestyle in ocean sports for future generations.
