Larry McIntosh was melancholic about the arrival of the Tachibana High School Band. He said the band comes in on the day he leaves for a Mainland gig to help raise funds for his musical scholarship. And, he was even offered a position as a guest conductor for the Thursday night concert.
Art Umezu said Kellie Nada and Daphne Sanchez will be performing in the concert, too … tickets are still available at M. Kawamura and Kaua‘i Bakery (check out Dean and Lei Nakayama’s latest creations while there).
Colleen Tuckner from Kaua‘i Community College said there is a change in the itinerary for the Chiba Keizai College students (chaperone Kyo Yanaura was wearing his UH Warriors shirt, too) who arrived here Monday for a week’s stay.
Pua Rossi, one of the college’s new Hawaiian Studies teachers, will be helping the Japanese college students with hula, Tuckner said.
On a run to King Auto Center, Russ and Paige Talvi had their son along as they finalized their new car, and with the Chiba students having their farewell dinner at the Hukilau Lanai, Paige is going to be busy.
Jodi Ascuena was among the crowd at the toro nagashi ceremony, Sunday, and doesn’t know for sure if they’re going to have the Red Hat event, yet. But she said they can have a Redhead event.
Was nice to see Herbert and Jessie Miyazaki who had the whole family at Kukui‘ula.
OK, gotta run … it’s off to see Josie Pablo at Mahelona Hospital for their lu‘au celebrating the hospital’s 90th anniversary.
