Hanalei gallery hosts
‘Children Across America’ exhibit
Art and Soul Gallery of Hanalei will host an 20th anniversary exhibition of photography called “Children Across America” from Aug. 15 to Sept. 15.
The opening reception will take place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 18.
Known for his trademark flowery style, Damian Miles brings two decades of highly stylized portrait photography of children and their parents from across the country, states a press release.
Miles will also exhibit prints as well as a slide show featuring a debut of surreal still lifes by Miles’ daughter and muse, Amber.
The subjects of her unique perspective are the window mannequins of the NYC Macys Flower Show, “Flower Amazons of 5th Avenue.”
Miles, a summer/winter resident of Kaua‘i said in the release that “every child deserves a beautiful image of themselves from their childhood, one that reflects how they are cherished.”
