WAIMEA — The Department of Public Works will do a presentation on the proposed lateral expansion of the Kekaha Landfill at a public information meeting this week.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Waimea Neighborhood Center.
A draft environmental assessment describing the project is available for review at two public libraries on Kaua‘i, Waimea and Lihu‘e, as well as two locations on O‘ahu, the Hawai‘i State Library and the Hawai‘i Documents Center.
Public comment on the DEA will be accepted until Aug. 24. All comments received or postmarked by Aug. 24 will be considered and responded to in the final environmental assessment.
