Deanne Yugawa got a hit. After coming up empty for the Kaneohe Nationals at the Majors tournament in Kapa‘a, Deanne finally got a 2-RBI shot in her final at-bat during the championship game.
Dan and Jan Miyamoto were on-hand to watch that shot that came following two strikes and three foul balls. Way to go, Deanne, and congratulations to the Nationals on the title!
Bob Kawamoto is already trying to see if he can get out earlier than is planned Friday, and great job to coach Brian Aiwohi and the Kawaihau ‘ohana on a great tournament!
Actually, all of the teams in the tournament were great, and Kawaihau coaches Abe Kuhaulua and Mark Martinez were on-hand even after the team was eliminated, Sunday.
The Wal-Mart crowd (Kawehi Louis Diamond was picking up last-minute stuff before leaving for O‘ahu and a soccer tournament, Travis Stine was having a post-dinner snack with his ‘ohana, Jessie and Marian Akagi just got back from 100-plus degree weather in Las Vegas, William and Anita Kaneakua had all kinds of ‘ohana visiting, and grandma Soly Fernandez had a break from fishing) were all on top of the Nationals’ record since Deanne was one of the first people they met last Friday night.
Pauline Ibia (only 10 more minutes to work) said with all the off-island teams here for the two tournaments, someone has been in the store every night.
OK, ‘nuff said. Today is a full-plate day!
