The Kaua‘i Table Tennis Club is on a mission to attract more players to join the club.
Darren Carillo of the club, who plays regularly, wants to help people learn modern techniques or just play for fun. Carillo trained in China for three months, learning Chinese techniques and attended several week-long Swedish and German summer camps.
The club meets at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays and 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.

Kukui‘ula Outrigger hosts fund-raising golf tournament
Kukui‘ula Outrigger has announced plans for its inaugural golf tournament set for this Sunday at the Kiahuna Golf Course in Po‘ipu. Proceeds from the tournament will go to support the club and raise money for the “End Ice on Kaua‘i” program.
The tournament is limited to 120 golfers (two-man scramble, Calloway System handicap).
All participants receive complimentary use of the driving range, 18 holes of golf, shared golf cart, food, no-host bar with prizes and a silent auction.
Registration has already started.
Check-in starts at 10:30 a.m. and a shotgun start will be at noon.
The contests include, “Hole-in-One for a Harley” sponsored by Kauai Harley-Davidson, Closest to the Pin, Putting Contest and the Red Bull Final 5.
Entry fee is $85 and sponsorship opportunities are available.

The Club at Hanalei Bay hosts tennis, swim camp
The Club at Hanalei Bay continues registration this week for its fifth and sixth tennis and swim camp sessions.
The camp sessions run from 8 a.m. to noon with the fifth session starting this Monday. Each camp session is limited to 30 participants. The sixth session runs from July 16 to 20.
