KAPA‘A — Kelsey Cadiente netted a game-high 16 points to lead the Knockout Girls to a 33-16 win over the Lihu‘e
Kamakaze Wednesday night at Kapa‘a High School.
That 13 and Under girls game was one of two girls contests played in the 3 G’s Nation competitive basketball league. The final game featured Hanakila taking on the Gee Unit in a 13 Under boys contest.
Kristle Henry continued to sizzle the twine, finishing with a dozen points to lead the Gee’s Angels to a 36-16 showing over Kaulupono who, despite strong defensive efforts and hustle, could not penetrate the paint.
Maile Drier added 10 points for the Angels. Jessical Feller, Reggie McCabe and Lauren Claypoole each finished with 4 points, and a pair from Kylie Barba rounded out the win.
Vakeesha Lagazo and Cheyanne Duarte paced the Kaulupono effort with 6 points each followed by Paige Connelly adding a pair and a lot of hustle in battling the taller Angels in the paint.
Following Cadiente’s lead, Kaira Kupihea added 8 points followed by Ulia Langy adding 6 points.
Kawehi Louis Diamond and Siarah Perreira paced the Kamakaze effort with 7 and 6 points, respectively.
Dane Bautista and Adam Clark each netted 13 points to lead the Gee Unit to a 36-20 win over Hanakila in the finale. Donovan Harrison finished with 6 points and pairs from Kea Nacolatabua and Po Deponte rounded out the win.
Elmer Cudiamat led the Hanakila effort with 8 points followed by Keli‘ikoa Baclayon adding 4 points. Morgan Childs finished with three, Marlon Cudiamat and Reese Whitsel added pairs and a digit from James Paik rounded out the effort.
Earlier in the week, Brity Agu had 7 points, Alexis Hernandez and Lacey Lucas finished with 6 points each to lead the Kamakaze to a 23-21 edge over Kaulupono on Saturday.
Lagazo lit up the net with a dozen points to lead the Kaulupono effort in that game with Duarte adding 4 points.
Marissa Hesapene and Arissa Thronas each added pairs.
Cody Iwasaki finished with a game-high 13 points to lead Team Central to a 33-21 win over Laukona. Kaleo Cummings added 11 points, and Austin Simao added 8 points to lead the scorers.
Scot Sasan led the Laukona effort with 7 points followed by Cameron Largusa with 5 points.
Keane Agoot finished with 17 points, Duke Pauli added 15, and Keone Kinzie netted 10 points to lead Team Central 13U to a 54-29 win over Gee Unit.
Adam Clark and Dane Bautista led the Gee Unit with 10 and 8 points, respectively. Donovan Harrison rounded out the effort with 7 points.
