Waimea, currently leading the league, got past Kekaha 6-2 in the Sunday opener of a double-header.
In the second contest, Lihu‘e edged Hanapepe 9-8 to set the stage for the showdown tomorrow.
Waimea will play Lihu‘e for the title.
According to league official Dondi Viquelia, if Waimea wins, they will become the champions of the PONY Baseball League and will advance to the Big Island for the state playoffs.
If Lihu‘e wins, a second game will be played Sunday starting at 10 a.m. at a neutral field to be determined tomorrow.
Port Allen Fishing Club derby Saturday
The Port Allen Fishing Club will host its annual fishing derby Saturday at the Port Allen Small Boat Harbor.
According to a press release from the club, fishing commences at 6 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. with weigh-in taking place at the Port Allen Small Boat Harbor.
A lu‘au dinner and awards ceremony will follow with prizes being offered for the winning fishermen and lucky number drawings for prizes contributed by community sponsors.
Families and friends of fishermen participating in the derby can also purchase lu‘au tickets.
Last year more than 40 boats entered the derby and organizers are expecting an even bigger turnout this year.
Registration for the derby is currently taking place in anticipation of a good turnout. Entry forms are available at Rainbow Paint, the Lihu‘e Fishing Supply, Nawiliwili Harbor and the Port Allen Fishing Club.

Kmart shoreline fishing contest July 20-22
Kmart will be hosting its annual shoreline fishing tournament from July 20 to July 22.
This is the 10th year that Kmart has hosted the popular summertime event that will have the weigh-in take place on July 22 starting from 10 a.m.
As in the past, the categories include papio, ulua and oio. There is also a keiki division for the younger anglers.
