Kristle Henry and her Gee’s Angels were able to participate in the Kamehameha Day parade and still make it to their game Saturday.
Playing in the 13 and Under girls program of the 3 G’s Nation competitive basketball league, Gee’s Angels was a 42-11 winner over Kaulupono after picking up second-place honors in the Walking Unit. In the two boys’ 15 and Under contests, Laukona handed the Gee Unit a 59-41 loss while Team Central was a 36-29 winner over Westside.
Lauren Claypoole led the Angels with 10 points followed by Henry and Reggie McCabe each netting 8 points in its win. Mahea Hanie-Grace and Tiorie Daligcon finished with 6 points each with Maile Drier rounding out the leaders with 4 points.
Arissa Thronas paced the Kaulupono effort with 6 points followed by Vakeesha Lagazo adding 4 points and a digit by Marissa Hesapene rounding out the boards.
Dolton Thronas and Cody Morden each finished with 15 points to lead Laukona over the Gee Unit. Devone Florence finished with a dozen marks and Cameron Largusa and Scot Sasan added 10 and 7 points, respectively.
Winston Gee sparked the unit’s efforts with 11 points followed by Donovan Harrison and Thomas Gausepol each netting 7 points. Dane Bautista finished with 5 points, Kyle Lee and Princeton Gee each had 4 points and Kea Nacolatabua added 3 points to round out the math.
Kaleo Cummings erupted for 13 points to lead Team Central over Westside. Kapono Cummings followed with 10 points. Austin Simao added 5 points with Brian Andres and Travis Taylan each netting 3 points. A pair from Cody Iwasaki rounded out the victory.
Xavier Guirao paced the Westside effort with 8 points followed by Malcolm Carter finishing with 5 points. Dayton Bayot and Christian Tangalin each netted 4 points. Ariel Lahip, P.J. Oligo, Kaya Kanahele and Sami Matagiese rounded out the books with pairs.
