Hawaiian music sensation Sashamon and his band will perform at a fund-raiser for Hale Kipa on June 23, at 5 p.m. at All Saints Gym Red Barn in Kapa‘a.
The event will raise funds to benefit Hale Kipa programs that provide shelter and services for at-risk youth in Hawaii.
Anyone familiar with Sashamon’s “Japanese Squeeze,” “Necta” or “One Day Maybe” won’t want to miss this concert with a Hot Jammin’ dance party to enjoy the blend of reggae, rock and Hawaiian music.
Sashamon grew up on Moloka‘i and lives on Kaua‘i. He said he knows how fortunate he was to have grown up in a place and time when music was interwoven with family and community. This fund-raiser is a way for him to give back to the community and recognize the challenges of many youth that don’t have the same benefits of family support.
The event will be an alcohol and drug free zone with fun, food and door prizes. Pre-sale tickets are $12, $15 at the door. All proceeds will go to benefit the programs of Hale Kipa.
Contact Hale Kipa, Kaua‘i office at 246-4898 for pre-sale tickets or more information.
