Pastor John Mills and the congregation of Hanapepe Church of the Nazarene will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary on June 23 and 24. All are welcome who have been associated with the church anytime during the last 50 years. All events are free of charge. The celebration begins with a lu‘au at 5 p.m. on Saturday evening. Several previous pastors will be attending this important milestone.
This will be a time of renewing old acquaintances, sharing blessings and talking story. Entertainment will be provided by several groups singing, signing hula, and a fire dance is scheduled.
Sunday morning at 9:45 will be the morning celebration. A full program is planned including memories of the past, encouragement for the present and preparing the vision for HCN in the future. Rev. Robert Killen, District Superintendent for the Hawai‘i-Pacific District of the Church of the Nazarene, will be bringing the message of the morning. At the conclusion of the service there will be a chili and rice luncheon and activities for the children.
