KALAHEO — Koloa Lions Club President Donald Quon was on hand yesterday at Kalaheo Elementary School to present the student winners of the “Sight is Beautiful” poster contest with their prizes.
All told, Quon said there were 16 winners who received cash awards, with one winner going on to place in the state competition. Quon said each of the Lions Clubs on the island host the “Sight is Beautiful” contest. Winning entries at the local level are submitted to the state contest.
Division I winners include first place Ryan Banasihan, second place Kairah Alejandro, third place Jaedyn Pavao and fourth place Annie Funaki.
Bianca Colagreco filled in the top slot in Division II, followed by Shaely Manuel-Wada, Gunnar Burkman and Erin Akamine.
Kolby Casticimo topped the Division III winners, followed by Keani Palama, Billie Ann Bukoski and Matthew Nishimoto filling in second through fourth, respectively.
Kaila Funaki was the first place winner in Division IV followed by Kelson Andrade, Mariah Opalek and Jared Okayama.
