Kawaikini Canoe Club’s Annual Walter J. Smith Canoe Regatta will kick off the outrigger Kaua‘i canoe regatta season today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Wailua River.
Eight canoe clubs will compete from all over the island for trophies and ribbons. Men, women, and children age 10 and up will compete in 40 events throughout the day.
There will be food, drinks, music and excitement for the whole family.
