Registration for the 2007 Summer Enrichment Program is scheduled for Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at most neighborhood centers.
Unlike previous years, the registration period will last one week to give parents the opportunity to come in at their convenience, said Cindy Duterte, executive on recreation, in a press release.
“Some of the parents told us it was hard for them to come on a Saturday because of all the activities happening during the weekend,” Duterte said in the release. “So we decided to change the registration period from one day to a whole week.”
Registration for the Summer Enrichment Program will be handled at the following neighborhood centers n Hanapepe, Kapa‘a, Kalaheo, Kekaha, Kilauea, Koloa and Lihu‘e.
Sign-ups for King Kaumuali‘i and Wilcox Elementary schools will also be done at the Lihu‘e Neighborhood Center. The program will not be offered at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School.
She pointed out that everything about the program will remain unchanged from last summer. Hours are the same, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, and lunch will be provided at no extra charge except for one day of the week — Wednesday, the day excursions are scheduled.
The program runs from June 13 through July 20 and is open to youngsters, ages five to 11.
Payment must be made by check or money order payable to the Director of Finance. The fee is $90 per child.
If additional support or an auxiliary aide is required for a child to participate, contact the Recreation Agency, 241-4460, at least five business days before the program begins.
