Danny is one of those loyal baseball fans (when the games are in Lihu‘e) and said Dwight Fujii may be the manager of the Lihu‘e A’s, but he’s still the boss.
Another loyal baseball fan, Uncle Louie Almadova, was at the field Wednesday…watch out, guys, he’s taking notes to see who’s properly attired. Uncle Louie said you can’t win games if you dress sloppy! He said Wednesday was his first game this season and plans on taking in more before the season ends.
On a sadder note, Sole Fernandez (she’s one of the Wal-Mart Club people) said the Thrifty Mart in Puhi will be closing its doors real soon. So soon that Baca Fernandez has already stopped making his chili. Now, where else can you find all those ono goodies this side of the bridge?
Bob and Lenore Klass get away from the Southshore construction din by enjoying lunch at Kukui Grove (even Glen Taba and his family took time out for that, Wednesday). Unfortunately, the Mokihana Performing Arts Scholarship event conflicted with the PMRF change of command, but Lenore said Nina Saraos (chicken dance, anyone?) had it all covered.
OK, ‘nuff said … it’s off to check out Jocelyn Barriga and her Special Olympics ‘ohana, Sue Keller and the Kaua‘i Farm Bureau people at the Garden Fair at KCC, and a slug of KIF stuff (Joyce Evens gets a break until Tuesday night).
