A fire on Hakuaina Street in Anahola destroyed a home yesterday morning. No one was injured by the fire.
The blaze began around 10 a.m., county officials said. Emergency responders had the fire under control within an hour and completely extinguished by noon. Only a portion of the exterior walls remain.
Damages to the 1,200-square-foot wooden home and its contents are estimated at $220,000.
Twelve firefighters and rescue specialists from the Kapa‘a and Lihu‘e stations responded to the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
