HSJGA to conduct college workshop
Hawai‘i’s junior golfers will get a chance to learn first-hand from collegiate golf coaches and players at the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association College Workshop on March 14. The free workshop, held at the Kaua‘i Community College cafeteria at 6 p.m., will focus on helping junior players advance to the collegiate level.
The workshop is open to HSJGA members and all other interested individuals. It will feature a panel of coaches and more than a dozen players on Kaua‘i to compete in the Kauai Collegiate Cup Golf Tournament March 16-17.
Western Kentucky University and North Dakota State University teams are expected to appear.
Western Kentucky’s Brian Tirpak has coached collegiate golf for more than 15 years and played for the University of Kentucky.
NDSU coach Billy Iverson is in his fourth year leading the Bisons after a nearly 20-year professional career. He played collegiate golf at Minnesota State-Moorhead.
