This year’s “Kauai Sings!” is all set for Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Kauai Coast Resort.
Coming just before Valentine’s Day, the show is appropriately called “Love Songs.”
Last year’s April event was a big success in raising funds for Malama Pono, and they’re expecting even more performers this year, spread over two nights instead of one.
“The first ‘Kauai Sings!’ was a huge hit,” board president Joe Moss said in a statement. “The community talent came together and in one night we raised nearly $4,000 for Malama Pono’s mission to stop AIDS on Kaua‘i.”
Entertainers will sing favorite love songs from almost every genre — Broadway musicals, Gershwin classics, pop standards and Hawaiian ballads.
Local theater patriarch Arnold Meister emcees.
Tickets are $25 and all proceeds go to Malama Pono.
There will be a cash bar at the event but no food. Separate dinner reservations in the main restaurant, Hukilau Lanai, can be made.
For tickets, call Malama Pono at 246-9577. Tickets may also be available at the door.
