Police are seeking help in finding answers about a fire that caused $30,000 worth of damages in a Puhi building yesterday morning.
At press time, the cause of the fire was under investigation.
The fire began around 4:45 a.m. Monday morning at the Fresh Island Fish Co. warehouse, according to police. “It was a small fire, within a 150-square-foot area,” said county spokesperson Mary Daubert.
“An employee spotted flames through a window when he arrived at work and used the fire hose cabinet in the office to extinguish the fire. He then called 911 for help,” Daubert said.
The warehouse was filled with smoke when firefighters arrived, so they ventilated the building, Daubert said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Detective Kaleo Perez at 241-1686, police dispatch at 241-1711 or Crime Stoppers at 241-1887.
