HILO — A buzzword for most of 2006, renewable energy is sure to remain a hot topic in Hawai‘i for 2007.
Maurice Kaya of the state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, will brief Gov. Linda Lingle’s East Hawai‘i Council of Advisors Jan. 25 on work that the Strategic Industries Division conducts as part of DBEDT.
The briefing will cover energy efficiency, renewable energy and technology-based economic development.
“This will be a great opportunity for East Hawai‘i residents to see what role they can play in helping the Big Island reduce our dependence on imported fuel as well as increase economic development for our state,” said Dylan Nonaka, the Governor’s East Hawai‘i liaison, in a statement.
